In the paper under review for every \(e\)-core partition \(k\) the author defines a class \(\mathcal{P}_k^*\) of partitions having this \(e\)-core and locally small \(e\)-quotients. This class turns out to be closed under the Mullineux involution and properly generalizes analogous classes which were previously considered for Rouquier partitions. The author obtains a closed formula, in terms of Littlewood-Richardson coefficients, for the canonical basis elements of the Fock space representation of \(U_v(\widehat{sl}_l)\), which are labeled by partitions from \(\mathcal{P}_k^*\). Evaluating \(v=1\) this produces decomposition numbers for the \(q\)-Schur algebra in characteristic \(l\) (under some restrictions on \(l\)). In contrast to the previous results, this also includes some cases when the blocks, in which the simple modules labeled by such partitions lie, are not of abelian defect.
