Calculating the vertex unknowns of nine point scheme on quadrilateral meshes for diffusion equation (Q2519315): Difference between revisions

The authors introduce a new method of calculating the vertex unknowns of the nine point scheme on quadrilateral meshes for diffusion equations. A two cell-centered finite volume scheme on Voronoi meshes is derived. It is shown that the scheme is convergent both on the Voronoi mesh as well as on the primary mesh. Numerical results for a linear elliptic problem, an elliptic problem with discontinuous coefficients, and a linear parabolic problem are presented. It is shown that the scheme is second order accurate on distorted meshes.
