The authors discuss and compare two approaches for fuzzy probabilities, firstly Zadeh's approach and secondly Bayesian fuzzy probability introduced by \textit{P. Jain} and \textit{A. M. Agogino} [Stochastic sensitivity analysis using fuzzy influence diagrams. in: Uncertainty in artificial intelligence, vol 4. North-Holland, Amsterdam, 79--92 (1990)]. These approaches are found to be defective. Therefore, the authors develop a theory of linguistic probability, use it within Bayesian networks and apply it to a realistic example in the domain of forensic science.
