Tha author studies the \((2 +1)\)-dimensional Abelian Higgs model, which is the relativistic extension of the Ginzburg-Landau model. It has electrically neutral static solutions of votrex type. In the case when the Chern-Simons term is added to the model, it has finite-energy vortices which carry electric charge as well as magnetic flux. The author consider some special type of Higgs potential and obtaines minimum-energy static vortices which satisfy first-order equation called the self-duality equation. The author proves some results about existence of solutions of this self-duality equation of the model with non-minimal coupling, using the perturbation argument. He also studies the structure of radially symmetric non-topological solutions of the model.
