Let \(G=\text{SL}_n(\mathbb{F})\) as algebraic group over the algebraically closed field \(\mathbb{F}\) of characteristic \(p>0\). Let \(\alpha=\alpha_q\) be a simple root corresponding with an endpoint of the Dynkin diagram and let \(G^{(q)}\) be the Levi subgroup of the corresponding maximal parabolic subgroup. Let \(L(\omega)\) be a simple \(G\)-module with highest weight \(\omega\). Let \(v^+_\omega \) be a highest weight vector. Theorem A gives sufficient conditions on \(\omega\) and \(k\) under which the \(G^{(q)}\)-module generated by \((X_{-\alpha})^kv^+_\omega\) is a Weyl module. Theorem B also gives necessary conditions. -- When primitive vectors are known in the Weyl module in question, this may produce interesting examples of primitive vectors in the restriction of \(L(\omega)\) to \(G^{(q)}\). Examples illustrate this.
