    In this paper some existence results are presented for the functional equation \[ \begin{multlined} \lambda(x,y)\phi^{-1}\left(\mu(x,y)\phi(x)+(1-\mu(x,y)\right)\phi(y)\\ +(1-\lambda(x,y))\psi^{-1}\left( \nu (x,y)\psi(x)+(1-\nu(x,y)\psi(y)\right)\\ =\lambda(x,y)x+(1-\lambda(x,y))y, \end{multlined} \] where \(\phi, \psi: I\to {\mathbb R}\) are continuous and strictly monotonic functions, \(\lambda, \mu, \nu: I^2\to (0,1)\) are fixed functions and \(I\subset {\mathbb R}\) a non trivial interval.
