A Leray-type regularisation of the compressible Euler equations for isothermal gas is considered by introducing a small parameter. With the help of Riemann invariants existence of smooth solutions is proven for any positive small parameter. It is further proven that convergence is strong in case of the vanishing parameter, however, the limit solution is not the unique entropy solution.
