The paper deals with the asymptotical stability of linear neutral systems with time varying bounded delay and nonlinear perturbations. Some asymptotical stability criteria, which are both delay-dependent and delay-derivative-dependent, are formulated in terms of linear matrix inequalities. The results are obtained via a class of quadratic Lyapunov-Krasovskii functionals. Two numerical examples are given to demonstrate that the derived conditions are less conservative than those given in the literature: the maximal allowable values of delay for the stability of the systems are greater than those obtained by some other methods.
