Nyström method for Cauchy singular integral equations with negative index (Q843160): Difference between revisions

The authors propose a Nyström method for solving singular integral equations on an interval having a negative index. The equation has constant coefficients and is perturbed by a compact integral . Under suitable conditions on the integral kernel and the right-hand side the equation can be reduced to a Fredholm integral equation. The stability and convergence of the Nyström method for that equation is studied in spaces of continuous functions with weighted norm. Some numerical tests confirm the error estimates.
