Let \(L\) be a finite Moufang loop, and let \(p\) be a prime. A \(p\)-subloop \(P\) of \(L\) is called a Sylow \(p\)-subloop if the index \([L,P]=|L|/|P|\) is not divisible by the prime \(p\). Note that a Sylow \(p\)-subloop is not necessarily a maximal \(p\)-subloop of \(L\). For a Paige loop \(P(q)\) it is shown that \(P(q)\) does not contain any nonidentity \(p\)-subloops if \(p\) is a divisor of \(q^2+1\). In particular, \(P(q)\) with \(p\mid(q^2+1)\) has no Sylow \(p\)-subloops. Hence for a prime \(p\equiv 1\) (modulo 4) there exists a Moufang loop, namely a Paige loop \(P(q)\), that does not contain any Sylow \(p\)-subloops. The author also shows that any 2-subloop of a finite Moufang loop \(L\) is contained in some Sylow 2-subloop of \(L\). Moreover, the number of Sylow 2-subloops of a finite Moufang loop \(L\) is odd.
