Morphic cohomology was defined by \textit{E. M. Friedlander} and \textit{H. B. Lawson jun.} [Ann. Math. 136, 361--428 (1992; Zbl 0788.14014)] to study algebraic cocycles of quasi-projective complex varieties. In this paper the author studies this cohomology theory and also singular cohomology in Voevodsky's triangulated category of motives over \(\mathbb{C}\), constructing representing objects for both theories. With this construction the author extends some results on morphic cohomology such as Friedlander's comparison theorem to singular varieties. Results about the natural transformations of morphic cohomology of motives are also established. It is shown that the Friedlander-Mazur s-operation is one of these and evidence is given to suggest that it generates all such natural transformations.
