The article deals with the analysis of focal points of recessive solutions for discrete symplectic systems \[ z_{k+1} = S_kz_k, \quad k \in {\mathbb Z}, \] where \(z \in {\mathbb R}^{2n}\) and the matrices \(S_k\) are symplectic \[ S_k^TJS_k = J,\qquad J = \left(\begin{matrix} 0 & I \\ -I & 0 \end{matrix}\right). \] The main results of the article: Theorem 1. The numbers of focal points of two recessive solutions, \(Z^+\) at \(+\infty\) and \(Z^-\) at \(-\infty\), are the same. Theorem 2 presents a criterion of the coincidence of the number of forward focal points in \([0,\infty)\) and of the number of backward focal points in \([0,\infty)\).
