\textit{N. Ganter} and \textit{M. Kapranov} [Adv. Math. 217, No.~5, 2268--2300 (2008; Zbl 1136.18001)] have defined 2-characters for 2-representations of finite groups in 2-categories. The author considers 2-representations of this kind in the 2-category of 2-vector spaces over a field. These 2-representations are classified by cohomology classes, and she obtains an explicit formula for their 2-characters in terms of their cohomology classes. She shows that the 2-characters are additive and multiplicative, she obtains a formula for induced 2-representations, and she finds an example in which two non-equivalent 2-representations have the same 2-character.
