The paper continues previous studies of cyclically presented modules over a local ring. For infinite direct sums of uniserial modules, \textit{P. Příhoda} [Commun. Algebra 34, No. 4, 1479-1487 (2006; Zbl 1098.16004)] has proved a weak version of the Krull-Schmidt theorem. For cyclically presented modules over a local ring, an analogue is given in terms of the epigeny classes and the lower parts of the direct summands. Furthermore, the question whether direct sum decompositions of the mentioned type give rise to similar decompositions for direct summands, is answered for the infinite case. The finite case was investigated by the same authors [J. Algebra 320, No. 3, 1288-1310 (2008; Zbl 1158.16011)].
