Let \(s:I\rightarrow (0,\infty )\) be a function and let \(\alpha :I\rightarrow \mathbb{R}\) be a continuous strictly monotonic function. The Bajraktarević mean \(B_{s}^{\alpha}:I^{2}\rightarrow I\) is defined by the formula \[ B_{s}^{\alpha }(x,y)=\alpha ^{-1}\left( \frac{s(x)\alpha (x)+s(y)\alpha (y)}{ s(x)+s(y)}\right). \] The author looks for functions \(\varphi ,\psi \) and \(s\) such that the equation \[ A\circ (B_{s}^{\varphi },B_{s}^{\psi })=A \tag{1} \] is satisfied, where \(A\) is the arithmetic mean. In the main results of the paper the special cases: i) \(s(x)=x\) for \(x>0;\) ii) \( s(x)=e^{x}\) for \(x>0;\) iii) \(s(x)=\cos x\) for \(x\in (0,\pi /2)\) are considered. In all these cases, the Bajraktarević means which satisfy the equation (1) reduce to the arithmetic mean.
