Solid sequence \(F\)-spaces of \(L_{0}\)-type over submeasures on \(\mathbb N\) (Q2267722): Difference between revisions

The authors consider a strictly positive upper continuous submeasure \(\eta\) on the set \(\mathbb N\) and the norm \(\| x\|_\eta= \text{inf}\{\varepsilon> 0; \eta(s(x,\varepsilon))\leq \varepsilon\}\), where \(s(x,\varepsilon)= \{j:|\xi_j|> \varepsilon\}\). Using this norm, the space \(\lambda_0(\mu)\) is studied as well as its closed, separable subspace \(\lambda_{00}(\mu)\). The relation between \(\lambda_{00}(\mu)\) and \(\lambda_0(\mu)\) often resembles that between \(c_0\) and \(l_\infty\). It is shown that there exists a series in \(\lambda_{00}\) all of whose subseries of density zero are convergent, and yet its partial sums are unbounded. On the other hand, the Orlicz-Pettis theorems fails in \(\lambda_0\). Finally, \(\lambda_{00}\) can be used to show that some earlier constructed normed barrelled spaces are not ultra-barrelled.
