For a Tychonoff space \(X\), let \(\text{I}\,(X,{\mathcal C})\) be the base dimension I of the space \(X\) by a normal base \(\mathcal C\) for the closed subsets of \(X\). It is easy to see that for a normal space \(X\), \(\text{Ind}\,X=\text{I}\,(X,{\mathcal Z}(X))\) and for a Tychonoff space \(X\), \(\text{Ind}_0(X)=\text{I}\,(X,Z(X))\), where \({\mathcal Z}(X)\) is the normal base consisting of all closed subsets of \(X\) and \(Z(X)\) is the normal base consisting of all functionally closed subsets of \(X\). In an earlier paper, the author considered a dimension invariant that is denoted by Ind\(^w\) in this paper. It is known that for a Tychonoff space \(X\) of weight less than or equal to \(\tau\) \(\text{Ind}^w(X)=\min \{\text{I}\,(X,{\mathcal C}):\text{}{\mathcal C}\) is a normal base on \(X\) with \(|{\mathcal C}|\leq\tau\)
