The derivation of the time-convolution less density matrix theory (TCL) for nonlinear optical experiments is analyzed in detail. The authors show that it is possible to extend TCL theory for nonlinear optics to include system-baths (electron-phonon) correlations after the interaction with optical pulses. As an application of the proposed TCL scheme, a pump-probe experiment on an electronic three level system is considered.
