The reaction-diffusion system \[ \begin{aligned} v_t&= \delta v_{xx} +\tfrac{1}{\varepsilon} \big( v(v+p(x)) (1-v) - w \big), \tag{1}\\ w_t&= v-\gamma w, \tag{2}\end{aligned} \] with conditions \(v|_{x=-M a} = v|_{x=M a} = 0,\) \(w|_{x=-M a} = w|_{x=M a} = 0,\) \(p(x) = \alpha\) for \(|x|\leq a,\, p(x)= -\beta\) for \(a\leq|x|\leq Ma.\) The system (1)--(2) plays an important role in the field of electrocardiology as a tractable mathematical model of the electrical activity in the human heart. In this paper authors study initiation of periodicital solutions for \(\delta = (\nu_0 - \mu) a^2,\) where \(\mu\) is bifurcation parameter for \(M >0.\) The parameter \(\nu_0\) to be computed in the process of analysis of the spectra of the linearized problem. For \(M>0\) zero solution of the problem (1)--(2) becomes non-stable. In this paper the asymptotic approximation of the desired periodical solution \(v,\, w\) and the bifurcation parameter \(\mu.\) The analysis of the behavior of the constructed solutions as function of the parameters is carried out. The comparison of analytical solutions with results of numerical experiments is fulfilled.
