The author considers special classes of compact homogeneous Riemannian spaces \(M\), in particular the normal homogeneous spaces, the naturally reductive spaces and the isotropy irreducible spaces. These spaces have a canonical connection \(\nabla^c\); a main object of the paper under review is the group Aff\((\nabla^c)\) of affinities of this connection and the relation between it and the group of isometries of the Riemannian manifold (Theorem 1.1, Theorem 1.2).
