The author, beginning with certain definitions a ``synchronizable injection'' and ``prefix (suffix, or fix) free'' for special classes of functions, gives sufficient conditions under which the variable-length coding and its inverse preserve asymptotic mean stationarity. Furthermore, it is provided a study for preservation of shift-invariant \(\sigma\)-fields and the finite-energy property along with their applications to constracting a stationary nonergodic process.
