Multilinear generating functions for Charlier polynomials (Q972827): Difference between revisions

The authors derive a multilinear generating function for classical Charlier polynomials which is analog to the multilinear extension of the Mehler formula for Hermite polynomials of Slepian. The proof uses the combinatorial model of Charlier configurations of Labelle and Yeh. As special case of the main result, a bilinear generating function as well as derangement formulas are considered.
