Given two maps \(f_1\) and \(f_2\) from \(M\) to \(N\), the coincidence point set is \(\text{coin}(f_1, f_2)=\{x\in M \mid f_1(x) = f_2(x) \}\). This set is splitted into a disjoint union of subsets, each is said to be a coincidence point class of \(f_1\) and \(f_2\). The so-called Nielsen coincidence number \(N(f_1, f_2)\) is defined to be the number of essential classes, which turns out to be a lower bound for \(\text{coin}(g_1, g_2)\) for all maps \(g_1\) and \(g_2\) homotopic to \(f_1\) and \(f_2\), respectively. The author of is paper considers a special setting, where \(M\) and \(N\) are both smooth fiber bundles over a base manifold \(B\). An interesting phenomenon in this context is: the fundamental group \(\pi_1(B)\) of the base space has a natural action on the set of coincidence point classes, or say the Reidemeister set. The author shows that the Nielsen coincidence number \(N(f_1, f_2)\) and minimal coincidence number can be computed for fiberwise maps between torus bundles over the circle. By using some concrete examples, the author also shows ways to calculate the Nielsen coincidence number and related invariants for fiberwise maps. It should be mentioned that the computation of the Nielsen coincidence number is very hard in general.
