The authors study an SIR epidemic model with compartmental structure and pulse vaccination. In this SIR model, the susceptible population is divided into two stages, immature and mature, each contains \(m\) groups, such that individuals in each group have homogeneous susceptibility, but the susceptibilities of individuals from different groups are distinct. Using the comparison theorem, the authors prove some sufficient conditions such that the infection-free periodic solution is globally attractive. This paper also gives sufficient conditions for permanence.
