An \(\ell \)-group is said to be Archimedean if every nontrivial subgroup generated by an element is not upper bounded. An \(f\)-ring is Archimedean if its underlying \(\ell\)-group is Archimedean. A ring is said to be reduced if it has no nonzero nilpotent elements. Let \(A\) and \(B\) be reduced Archimedean \(f\)-rings, \(A\) with identity \(e\); let \(A\,\mathop \to \limits^\gamma\,B\) be an \(\ell\)-group homomorphism, and set \(w = \gamma (e)\). The authors show the following interesting results: (1) \(\gamma = w\cdot \rho \) for a canonical \(\ell \)-ring homomorphism \(A\,\mathop \to \limits^\rho\,B (w)\), where \(B (w)\) is an extension of \(B\) in which \(w\) is a von Neumann regular element; and (2) for \(X_A,X_B\) canonical representation spaces for \(A\), \(B\), \(\gamma\) is realized via composition with a unique partially defined continuous function from \(X _{B }\) to \(X _{A }\).
