A braid is called central if it commutes with any other braid. A subbraid of \(\beta\) is a braid obtained by choosing a proper subset of the strands of \(\beta\). The main result of this paper states that if there exists an \(n\)-strand braid \(\beta\) having a link \(L\) as closure, \(n\geq 3\) and \(\beta\) is either a non-pure braid or a pure braid that contains a non-central 3-strand braid as a subbraid, then there exists an infinite sequence of pairwise nonconjugate braids of \(n+ 1\) strands realizing \(L\). This result is an extension of Shinjo's results from knots to links.
