One of the recently demonstrated ways the exceptional Lie group \(E_8\) enters physics is throughout the Zamolodchikov model of the Ising chain. The \(E_8\) root system consists of 240 vectors in an 8D space which are vertices of the Gosset polytope whose 2D representation was drawn by P. McMullen. The images of the vertices under this 2D projection are arranged in 8 concentric circles, referred to as the Gosset circles. The key theorem of this work determines the radii of these circles and demonstrates that these radii are interconnected in a specific manner that involves the Golden number. The relationship of this statement with the Zamolodchikov model is discussed.
