The authors consider convolution equations of the form \(f*T=g\), where \(T\) is a compactly-supported distribution on \(\mathbb{R}^n\) and \(f,g\in L^p(\mathbb{R}^n)\). Combining methods from several complex variables and harmonic analysis, they establish general support theorems under natural assumptions on the zero set of the Fourier transform of \(T\). In particular, they show that \(f\) is compactly supported whenever \(g\) is. Similar results are proved for non-compact symmetric spaces as well.
