In this work, authors provide an algebro-geometric approach to Vakil-Zinger's desingularization of the main compartment of moduli space of genus one stable maps to \(\mathbb{P}^{n}\). Vakil-Zinger found a canonical desingularization of \(\overline{\mathcal{M}}_{1}(\mathbb{P}^{n},d)_{0}\) via virtual blowing-ups. Although these results are algebro-geometric, the proof is analytic. The authors provide an algebro-geometric approach to these desingularization results. This will also serve as their first step to generalize results on moduli spaces of genus one stable maps to higher genera.
