Vertex operators are naturally connected with certain combinatorial objects, such as Schur functions. In the paper under review, the authors define new vertex operators on the rank one lattice vertex algebra, and show that they are connected with Jack functions. They also find a \(\mathbb C\)-basis of the lattice vertex algebra in terms of these vertex operators.
