Assuming the Riemann Hypothesis we can write the nontrivial zeros of the Riemann zeta-function as \(\rho=\frac{1}{2}+i\gamma\), where \(\gamma\in\mathbb{R}\). Let \(0<\gamma\leq\gamma'\) be two consecutive ordinates of zeros. Define \[ \lambda=\limsup_{\gamma}(\gamma'-\gamma)\frac{\log\gamma}{2\pi}. \] Assuming the Generalized Riemann Hypothesis the author proves that \(\lambda>3.033\). This improves the earlier result \(\lambda>3\) of \textit{N. Ng} [J. Number Theory 128, No. 3, 509--556 (2008; Zbl 1182.11038)].
