A locally compact quantum group is a \(\mathbb C^*\)-bialgebra \((A,\Delta)\) equipped with a left and a right Haar weight \(\phi\) and \(\psi\). The theory of locally compact quantum groups has already reached its maturity. In the paper, the author considers the Rieffel deformation in terms of the crossed product construction. Let \(G_1\subset G\) be a closed subgroup of a locally compact group \(G\) and let \(X=G/G_1\) be the quotient space of left cosets. Let \(\mathbb X=(\mathbb C_0(X),\Delta_{X})\) be the corresponding \(\mathbb G\)-\(\mathbb C^*\)-algebra, where \(\mathbb G=(\mathbb C_0(G),\Delta)\). Suppose that \(\Gamma\) is a closed abelian subgroup of \(G_1\) and let \(\Psi\) be a \(2\)-cocycle on the dual group \(\Hat\Gamma\). Let \(\mathbb G^\Psi\) be the Rieffel deformation of \(\mathbb G\). Using the results of the paper [Commun. Math. Phys. 300, 741--763 (2011; Zbl 1213.46068)], the \(\mathbb G^\Psi\)-\(\mathbb C^*\)-algebra \(\mathbb X^\Psi\) -- the Rieffel deformation of \(\mathbb X\) -- can be constructed. On the other hand, one may perform the Rieffel deformation of the subgroup \(G_1\) obtaining the closed quantum subgroup \(\mathbb G^\Psi_1\subset\mathbb G^\Psi\), which in turn, by the results of [\textit{S. Vaes}, J. Funct. Anal. 229, No.~2, 317--374 (2005; Zbl 1087.22005)], leads to the \(\mathbb G^\Psi\)-\(\mathbb C^*\)-algebra \(\mathbb G^\Psi/\mathbb G_1^\Psi\). It is shown that \(\mathbb G^\Psi/\mathbb G_1^\Psi\cong\mathbb X^\Psi\). The author also considers the case where \(\Gamma\subset G\) is not a subgroup of \(G_1\), for which the subgroup \(\mathbb G^\Psi_1\) cannot be constructed. Then generically \(\mathbb X^\Psi\) cannot be identified with a quantum quotient.
