The authors present a 5-parameter family of 3-dimensional quadratic autonomous differential equations and show by means of numerical simulations that this system can display several types of chaotic attractors. In almost all their considerations four parameters are fixed. Varying the remaining parameter, one-, two-, three- and four-wing chaotic attractors as well as transient chaos are observed. The observations are visualized in several plots which are based on numerical simulations. In order to confirm these phenomena, the Lyapunov exponents are also discussed. The numerical simulations are carried out using MATLAB.
