Let \(\gamma\) be a smoothly bounded, strongly convex, symmetric subset of euclidean space, \(\mathbb R^N\), \(N\geq 3\). Denote \(A_\gamma\) the Minkowski functional of \(\gamma\). The positive elliptic, first order pseudo-differential operator \(A_\gamma(D)\) is (essentially) self-adjoint. Denote \(\{E_\lambda\}\) the resolution of the identity given by the spectral theorem of \(A_\gamma(D)\). Then \(E_\lambda f(x)\) is a non-spherical partial sum of the Fourier integral representation of \(f(x)\). The main result of the paper states that, for a piecewise smooth function \(f\), the Riesz means of order \(s>(N-3)/2\) converge to \(f\) locally uniformly outside the singularity set of the function, \(\lim_{\lambda\to\infty} E^s_\lambda f(x)=f(x)\). Moreover, convergence results for \(f\) belonging to a Nikol'skij space are given, generalizing results of \textit{N. N. Kozlova} [Differents. Uravnen. 20, 46--56 (1984; Zbl 0574.46024)] on spherical Riesz summation.
