The authors define a new operator class called class \(l-*-A\). An operator \(T\) belongs to class \(l-*-A\) if and only if \( T^{*}|T^{2}|T\geq T^{*}|T^{*}|^{2}T\). It is obtained that class \(l-*-A\) includes class \(*-A\) (i.e., \( |T^{2}| \geq |T^{*}|^{2}\)). The authors obtain some spectrum properties of class \(l-*-A\) operators, for example, \(w(f(T))=f(w(T))\) and \(\sigma_{ea}(f(T))=f(\sigma_{ea}(T))\) hold for every analytic function \(f\) on an open neighborhood of \(\sigma(T)\), where \(w(T)\) and \(\sigma_{ea}(T)\) are the Weyl and the essential approximate point spectrum, respectively. To prove these, the authors obtain the following results: Let \(M\) be an invariant subspace for a class \(l-*-A\) operator \(T\). Then \(T|_{M}\) belongs to class \(l-*-A\). \(\sigma_{np}(T)=\sigma_{p}(T)\) holds for all class \(l-*-A\) operators, where \(\sigma_{np}(T)\) and \(\sigma_{p}(T)\) are the normal point and the point spectrum, respectively. Note that the authors use the word ``joint point spectrum'' instead of ``normal point spectrum'' by mistake.
