The author investigates the Cauchy problem for some classes of the second order linear holomorphic partial differential equations in the complex domain in \(C^2\). He gives an explicit representation of the solutions of the Cauchy problem, in terms of series of hypergeometric functions, for the following class of partial differential equations with double characteristic at the origin: \[ (x^k\partial_t+ a\partial_x) (x^k\partial+ b\partial_x) u+ cx^{k-1} \partial_t u= 0, \] \[ u(0,x)= u_0(x),\;u_t(0,x)= u_1(x). \] It is proved that the solutions are holomorphic, ramified around the characteristic surfaces \(K= K_1\cup K_2\cup K_3\), where \(K_1= \{(t, x)\mid a(k+ 1)t- x^{k+1}= 0\}\), \(K_2= \{(t,x)\mid b(k+1)t- x^{k+1}= 0\}\) and \(K_4= \{x= 0\}\).
