The authors study the convergence properties of a uniparametric family of strongly A-stable Runge-Kutta methods of high order (SSAFERK methods), which have been recently introduced by the authors in a previous paper. These methods are applied to fast-slow systems of ordinary differential equations. The global error is analyzed on a sequence of differential algebraic equations of high index in order to obtain global error bounds for the SSAFERK methods. The authors present numerical evidence on the sharpness of the global error estimates by means of a van der Pol oscillator.
