The paper is devoted to the presentation of Weierstrass's construction of real numbers. Weierstrass included his construction into a series of lectures on analytic functions. He never published it in its entirety. Some of his students published lecture notes containing the construction -- the notes differ slightly in details, none of these works present a thorough exposition accessible to the modern reader. The historical background of Weierstrass's construction is also given in the paper under review.
