On the minimum dilatation of braids on punctured discs (Q540491): Difference between revisions

The minimum dilatation of pseudo-Anosov braids for \(n\)-punctured discs, \(3\leq n\leq 8\), is presented in this work. The result is obtained by an elementary proof based on the Lefschetz formula and covers previous results for \(n=4,5\).
