The authors consider maps \(v=(v_1,\dots ,v_m)\in L^2({\mathbb R}, {\mathbb R}^m)\) solving the nonlinear Schrödinger system \[ \forall\, i=1,\dots ,m\qquad \Delta ^{1/4}v^i=\sum_{j=1}^m\Omega^i_jv^j, \] where \(\Omega=(\Omega^j_i)_{i,j=1,\dots ,m}\in L^2({\mathbb R},so(m))\) is an antisymmetric matrix. The first result establishes the sub-criticality of nonlocal Schrödinger systems of the above form. Next, it is obtained a local existence property, whose proof uses an approach introduced by Uhlenbeck and which consists in constructing Coulomb gauges for \(L^2\) curvatures in 4 dimensions. The corresponding Euler-Lagrange equation of \(1/2\)-energy is then obtained and a regularity result is obtained. In the final part of the present part, two appendices contain useful localization and commutator estimates for nonlocal Schrödinger systems.
