    The authors consider the initial value problem (Cauchy problem) for the Klein-Gordon-Schrödinger (KGS) system having the form \[ i\partial_t\psi + \triangle\psi + i|\psi |^{p-1}\psi = -\phi\psi , \;\;x\in \mathbb{R}^3, \;\;t\in\mathbb{R}^{+}, \] \[ \square\phi + m\phi + |\phi |^{q-1}\phi = |\psi |^{2}, \;\;x\in \mathbb{R}^3, \;\;t\in\mathbb{R}^{+}, \] \[ (\psi ,\phi ,\partial_t\phi )(x,0) = (\psi^{0} ,\phi^{0} ,\phi^{1}), \;\;x\in \mathbb{R}^3, \] where \(\triangle \) and \(\square \equiv \partial_t^2-\triangle \) are the Laplacian and D'Alembertian, respectively. This system describes a generalization of the classical model of the Yukawa interaction between complex neutron field and neutral meson with driving force in quantum field theory. The real constant \(m\) is the mass of a meson, \(p\) and \(q\) are positive and \(2\leq p\leq 4\), \(1\leq q\leq 3\). The wave energy has the form \(\int \bar{\psi }\psi dx\), and the system energy is \[ \begin{multlined} E(t)=(1/2)\biggl(\|\nabla\psi (t)\|_{2}^{2} + \|\nabla\phi (t)\|_{2}^{2} + m\|\phi (t)\|_{2}^{2} + \|\phi '(t)\|_{2}^{2} +{2\over q+1} \|\phi (t)\|_{q+1}^{q+1}\biggr)\\ - \int |\psi (t)|^{2}\phi (t) dx. \end{multlined} \] By using the viscous approach and through a compactness argument, the existence of the global finite-energy solution under initial data \((\phi^0,\phi^1,\psi^0)\in H^1\times H^0\times H^1\) is established. The uniqueness of the weak solution is proved provided that the system energy is finite.
