The authors present a continuous extension of the block implicit hybrid one-step methods, exploiting only information from the underlying block rather than Lagrange interpolation, in order to solve differential equations. At first, convergence order and absolute stability for ordinary differential equations are proved. Then, an alternative version of continuous extension is proposed in order to numerically solve delay differential equations also. Convergence is studied. Some numerical examples enlighten the features of the presented methods.
