The author introduces a new invariant, the multidegree, derived from the Betti numbers and shifts arising from any bifiltered free resolution of a \((F,V)\)-bifiltered D-module. In commutative algebra, [\textit{E. Miller} and \textit{B. Sturmfels}, Combinatorial commutative algebra. Graduate Texts in Mathematics 227. New York, NY: Springer. (2005; Zbl 1090.13001)] defined the notion of multidegree for multigraded modules over a multigraded polynomial ring. The bifiltration is a combination of the standard filtration by the order of differential operators and of the so-called \(V\)-filtration along a coordinate subvariety of the ambient space defined by M. Kashiwara. They investigate its relation with the \(L\)-characteristic cycles considered by Y. Laurent. They provide examples from the theory of \(A\)-hypergeometric systems \(M_{A}(\beta )\) defined by [\textit{I. M. Gelfand, M. M. Kapranov} and \textit{A. V. Zelevinsky}, Discriminants, resultants, and multidimensional determinants. Mathematics: Theory \& Applications. Boston, MA: Birkhäuser. (1994; Zbl 0827.14036)]. We consider the \(V\)-filtration along the origin. When the toric projective variety defined from the matrix \(A\) is Cohen-Macaulay, they have an explicit formula for the multidegree of \(M_{A}(\beta )\).
