A proof is given that the closure of the numerical range of the multiplication operator on \(L^2(\mu)\) is the support of \(\mu\). It is also remarked that, if the support of \(\mu\) has uncountably many extreme points, then the Berberian-Quigley Hilbert space extension of \(L^2(\mu)\) is not separable.
