This article presents a (rather epic) proof for the fact that the singular set of a family of surfaces evolving by mean curvature flow with Neumann free boundary condition has Hausdorff measure zero. A surface is said to evolve by mean curvature flow, if at every time the velocity vector of a surface point is orthogonal to the surface and of length equal to the mean curvature. A Neumann free boundary condition provides a fixed surface along which the flowing surface can evolve freely, as long as boundary and flow meet orthogonally. At singular points, the flow becomes undefined or stops. The conditions (area continuity hypothesis, unit density hypothesis) under which this main result is proved analogous to those of the case without boundary, see [\textit{K.~Ecker}, Regularity Theory for Mean Curvature Flow. Progress in Nonlinear Differential Equations and their Applications 57. Boston, MA: Birkhäuser. (2004; Zbl 1058.53054)]. By already established techniques, it is deduced that only singularities at the boundary can have a positive Hausdorff measure. But a long chain of deep arguments shows that they cannot be reached by the flow. Hence, the mentioned result follows.
