Summary: By establishing a new proper variational framework and using the critical point theory, we establish some new existence criteria to guarantee that the \(2n\)th-order nonlinear difference equation containing both advance and retardation with \(p\)-Laplacian \(\Delta^n(r(t - n) \varphi_p (\Delta^n u(t - 1))) + q(t) \varphi_p (u(t)) = f(t, u(t + n), \dots, u(t), \dots, u(t - n)), n \in \mathbb Z(3), t \in \mathbb Z\), has infinitely many homoclinic orbits, where \(\varphi_p(s)\) is \(p\)-Laplacian operator; \(\varphi_p(s) = |s|^{p-2}s\) \((1 < p < \infty)\), \(r, q, f\) are nonperiodic in \(t\). Our conditions on the potential are rather relaxed, and some existing results in the literature are improved. | |||

Summary: By establishing a new proper variational framework and using the critical point theory, we establish some new existence criteria to guarantee that the \(2n\)th-order nonlinear difference equation containing both advance and retardation with \(p\)-Laplacian \(\Delta^n(r(t - n) \varphi_p (\Delta^n u(t - 1))) + q(t) \varphi_p (u(t)) = f(t, u(t + n), \dots, u(t), \dots, u(t - n)), n \in \mathbb Z(3), t \in \mathbb Z\), has infinitely many homoclinic orbits, where \(\varphi_p(s)\) is \(p\)-Laplacian operator; \(\varphi_p(s) = |s|^{p-2}s\) \((1 < p < \infty)\), \(r, q, f\) are nonperiodic in \(t\). Our conditions on the potential are rather relaxed, and some existing results in the literature are improved.
