The authors present a differential-algebraic biological economic system with time delays. In this model, there are two different Holling functional responses. By considering the time delay as a bifurcation parameter, they find that there exist stability switches when the delay varies, and Hopf bifurcation occurs when the delay passes through a sequence of critical values. Furthermore, they also consider the stability and direction of the Hopf bifurcation by applying the normal form theory and the center manifold theorem. Finally, they make some numerical simulations to illustrate the effectiveness of the results by using the Matlab software.
