We use almost identically the abstract of the authors -- unfortunately, the review cannot give entirely the richness of the results and all the technical statements: Denote by \(X_n\) the blow-up of \({\mathbb P}^2\) at \(n\) points. It is a classically known fact that, when \(n \leq 8\), the restriction of the intersection form on the Picard lattice of \(X_k\) to \(K^\perp\), where \(K =\) canonical class, is negative definite and the sublattice \(K^\perp\) is a root lattice of the exceptional Lie algebra \(E_k\). If the points in \({\mathbb P}^2\) are in general position, \(-K\) is ample and \(X_k\) is a del Pezzo surface. Starting from results of previous research (see the references to papers of R. Donagi and R. Friedman, J. Morgan, E. Witten), (namely that, for an elliptic curve \(\Sigma\), the flat \(E_k\)-bundles over \(\Sigma\) are in a natural bijective correspondence with smooth del Pezzo surfaces of degree \(9-k\) which contain \(\Sigma\) as an anti-canonical curve), one considers the case \(k=9\). One shows that there is a similar correspondence between certain del Pezzo surfaces with \(A_d\)-singularities containing \(\Sigma\) as an anti-canonical curve and Kac-Moody \(\widetilde{E}_k\)-bundles over \(\Sigma\) with \(k=8-d\). In the degenerate case where surfaces are rational elliptic surfaces, the corresponding \(\widetilde{E}_k\)-bundles over \(\Sigma\) can be reduced to \({E}_k\)-bundles.
