A complete and separable metric space \(X\) is a Urysohn space if each separable metric space of diameter not greater than the diameter of \(X\) can isometrically be embedded into \(X\) and each isometry between finite subsets of \(X\) is extendable to a self-isometry of \(X\). The author shows that there is a functor extending nonexpansive maps between compact subsets of a bounded Urysohn space to nonexpansive maps of the whole space. A similar result is proved for the case of unbounded Urysohn spaces provided the initial sets are compact.
