Let \(X\) be a compact Kähler manifold of dimension \(k\) with a Kähler form \(\omega\), and let \(f: X\rightarrow X\) be an automorphism. Assume that the action of \(f\) on the Hodge cohomology ring \(\bigoplus H^*(X)\) is simple, i.e., \(f^*\) has only a unique eigenvalue \(d_s>1\) of largest modulus, which is the spectral radius of the map \(f^*: H^{s,s}(X)\rightarrow H^{s,s}(X)\). Under these assumptions, the sequences \(d_s^{-n}(f^n)^*(\omega ^s)\) and \(d_s^{-n}(f^n)_*(\omega ^{k-s})\) converge to positive closed currents \(T^+\) and \(T^-\), called main Green currents associated with \(f\); this was shown in [the second author and \textit{N. Sibony}, J. Am. Math. Soc. 18, No. 2, 291--312 (2005; Zbl 1066.32024)]. The first main result of the paper under review is the following: Theorem 1.1. Let \(f\) be a holomorphic automorphism on a compact Kähler manifold \(X\). Assume that the action of the pull-back operator \(f^*\) on the Hodge cohomology is simple. Then the main Green currents \(T^+\) and \(T^-\) of \(f\) are woven, i.e., they are averages of currents of integration on complex manifolds (see Section 2 in the paper for the precise definition). Moreover, if \(T^+\) (resp. \(T^-\)) is of bidegree \((1,1)\), then it is laminar. The intersection \(\mu =T^+\wedge T^-\) is well-defined and is a non-zero invariant positive measure, and up to multiplication of \(\omega\) with a constant, one can assume that \(\mu\) is a probability measure, which is called the Green measure of \(f\). Thanks to the variational principle, the entropy of \(\mu\) is bounded from above by the topological entropy of \(f\), which is equal to \(\log d_s\) according to [\textit{M. Gromov}, Enseign. Math., II. Sér. 49, No. 3--4, 217--235 (2003; Zbl 1080.37051)] and [\textit{Y. Yomdin}, Isr. J. Math. 57, 285--300 (1987; Zbl 0641.54036)]. Moreover, as proved in [the second author and \textit{N. Sibony}, J. Algebr. Geom. 19, No. 3, 473--529 (2010; Zbl 1202.32033)], \(\mu\) is a measure of maximal entropy, i.e., its entropy is equal to \(\log d_s\). The second main result of the paper under review is then the following: Theorem 1.2. Let \(f\) be a holomorphic automorphism on a compact Kähler manifold \(X\). Assume that the action of the pull-back operator \(f^*\) on the Hodge cohomology is simple. Then the Green measure of \(f\) is the unique invariant probability measure of positive entropy. The woven property of the main Green currents is very useful in the dynamical study of \(f\) using a geometric method (see [\textit{E. Bedford}, \textit{M. Lyubich} and \textit{J. Smillie}, Invent. Math. 112, No. 1, 77--125 (1993; Zbl 0792.58034)]). Note that when \(X\) is projective, Theorem 1.1 was proved in [the second author, J. Geom. Anal. 15, No. 2, 207--227 (2005; Zbl 1085.37039)] using the fact that \(X\) admits many submanifolds of any dimension, and when the dimension of \(X\) is \(2\), Theorem 1.1 was proved in [\textit{S. Cantat}, Acta Math. 187, No. 1, 1--57 (2001; Zbl 1045.37007)].
